We're almost at the start of a new month, so it's time to take a look at all the films and releases that await us on Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming platforms in May.

1.Mother of the Bride

From filmmaker Mark Waters, known for directing "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday", comes a new romantic comedy starring Brooke Shields and Miranda Cosgrove, alongside Benjamin Bratt and Chad Michael Murray. In this brilliant film, Lana (Shields) is stunned when her daughter Emma (Cosgrove) returns from an international trip with the news that she is getting married, in Thailand, in just a month. If the sudden engagement wasn't already enough to process, Lana is even more surprised when she discovers that Emma's fiance is the son of the person who broke her heart years ago. Traveling to the destination wedding, what unfolds are several uncomfortable encounters and perhaps even a second chance to find love. "Mother of the Bride" seems to follow the line of clichés, but promises to offer hilarious moments and an engaging plot.

Available on Netflix from May 9th.

2.Bridgerton season 3

For those who are fans of Bridgerton, we have great news! The popular Netflix series is almost here after a hiatus of over 2 years. The third season of Bridgerton will be divided into two parts, with the first four episodes released in May and the others in June. The focus of the next season should be on Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgeton (Luke Newtown).

3.The Kardashians

After the fourth season of The Kardashians, it's time for fans to want more! Kim, Kourtney, Khole, Kylie, Kendall and Kris are back for the fifth season of The Kardashians, premiering on Thursday, May 23rd, directly on Hulu.

4.Fall Guy

A film by director Davir Leitch (Deadpool 2) and based on the series "Fall Guy", Fall Guy promises a lot of humor, action and shit. Starring Ryan Gosling (Ken, Barbie), the film tells the story of Colt, a stuntman who leaves Hollywood after an accident and needs to return to the sets to work on a film directed by his ex, Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt).

With his rapprochement with Jody, Colt finds himself in great trouble when Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), the main protagonist of the film, ends up disappearing without explanation. Worried about the film's cancellation, Jody begins a series of investigations, but he has no idea what trouble he's getting himself into.

5.Planet of the Apes: Reign

The new film in the Planet of the Apes franchise will take place many years after the 2017 war. The film shows many ape societies that have evolved since Caesar took his people to an oasis, while humans have been drastically reduced. Many years into Caesar's Reign, a leader ape begins to enslave groups to find human technology, while another ape who saw his clan captured embarks on a journey to find his own freedom, with a human leader as the central key to the plot.

6.Garfield: Away From Home

In "Garfield: Away from Home", the adorable orange cat (voiced by Chris Pratt) finds himself involved in an exciting journey after a surprising reunion with his father, the bold street feline Vic (played by Samuel L. Jackson) . The newly discovered family bond leads Garfield and his loyal companion, the mischievous dog Odie, to venture into a dangerous heist, where they will face exciting situations full of unexpected twists. Get ready for a getaway full of humor, action and unbreakable family bonds.

The film opens in theaters on May 24th.

7.An Idea of You

The Idea of You", directed by Michael Showalter, tells the story of Solène (played by Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mother who, since the separation and the birth of her daughter, has avoided venturing into love. However , her life takes a turn when, at the request of her ex-husband Dan (played by Reid Scott), she agrees to accompany her daughter to Coachella. What was supposed to be just an exciting experience at the festival ends up turning into something more intense. when Solène falls in love with none other than Hayes Campbell (played by Nicholas Galitzine), the charming 24-year-old star of the most famous boy band of all time. As a journalist, Rob is immediately captivated by the honesty in Mira's beautiful confessionals. When he's assigned to write a profile of star Celine Dion, he decides to enlist her help in figuring out how to meet Mira in person... and maybe win her heart. Get ready for an unlikely love story, full of exciting twists and truly touching moments.

The film opens on May 15th.

9.Interview with the Vampire

"Interview with the Vampire" is a fascinating drama and horror film, adapted from the novel by Anne Rice. The plot revolves around Louis (played by Jacob Anderson), a man who is transformed into a vampire by the enigmatic Lestat (played by Sam Reid). The story is told through Louis's account to a journalist, addressing deep themes such as immortality, loneliness and morality. As the film unfolds, Louis and Lestat face ethical dilemmas and internal conflicts as they try to deal with their supernatural condition. Prepare yourself for a dark and immersive journey through the tormented minds of these immortal beings.

The plot should premiere on May 29th.

10.Outer Range

Starring the talented actor Josh Brolin, 'Outer Range' transports us to the story of farmer Royal Abbott, a man determined to protect his family after a mysterious disappearance shakes his life. In the first season, the protagonist finds himself faced with stunning twists and turns when a vortex is discovered on his property, turning his reality upside down. Now, in the long-awaited second season, the intriguing elements introduced previously promise to be explored in greater depth, offering answers to the questions that have intrigued viewers. Get ready to dive even deeper into this enigmatic world of mysteries and secrets.

The second season premieres on May 16th.
